Discovery:non-arch dig, 1875 sexton
History:Westwood/1879, 97: `This stone is now fixed as a seat in the north porch of the newly rebuilt church of Merthyr Monach...It was found by the sexton in digging a grave two yards distant from the south wall of the present church, two feet below the surface, having formerly been crossed by the south wall of the Derllys Chapel, which formed part of the former church'.
