History:Macalister/1945, 247: `found in 1877 somewhere near Killorglin. This vague localization is all that is recorded by Bishop Graves...but it is amplified slightly by the additional information...that the stone was found in a souterrain. Now in the collection of the Royal Irish Academy housed in the National Museum'.

O'Sullivan/Sheehan/1996, 244: `Macalister noted three vowel strokes near the top of the stone which, he suggested, represent the end of an earlier inscription. It seems equally possible, however, that they are a continuation of this inscription (information: F. Moore)'.
