CISP: The palaeography, such as can be made out from the drawing in Petrie, suggests a twelfth or thirteenth century date.

Palaeography:CISP: The lettering is uncertain. Few aspects of the drawing in Petrie/1878, Plate XXXIII, no. 70, encourage trust. However, the shape of the Es, the M and the A with a flat top stroke, suggest a twelfth or thirteenth century date for this inscription.
Legibility:poor
Macalister/1949, 82--83: 'The drawing in inadequate and it is impossible to form any opinionof value as to the decipherment of the first two lines. The third is clearly ANIMABUS OMNIUM FIDELIUM in an abbreviated form . Macalister bases his reading upon the illustration in Petrie/1878, Pl. XXXIII, fig. 70. This, as Petrie/1878, 60, makes clear, `is taken from a sketch in the collection of drawings made by Colonel Burton Conyngham's artists, but nothing is known of the monument now, and it is impossible to decipher the inscription as it stands'.
