With only one letter surviving, and only a small fragment of the cross, the orientation of the stone is difficult to ascertain. It is most likely, however, that the inscription was slightly off horizontal.

Palaeography:CISP: The sole surviving letter is half-uncial and either an open-bowed P or D. The ascender, or descender, has a wedge-shaped finial at its end, as does the end of the curved stroke which makes the bow.
