Westwood/1879, 183: `Pempris. -- In Pennant's Wales, ii, p. 202, and in Gough's Camden, iii, p. 186, mention is made of another stone, used as a lintel over a stable-door on the farm of Pempris'.
RCAHMW/1964, 80, no. 1659, provides a description of the farm house at Penprys and the surrounding area: `To the S. are ruins of smaller houses or of outbuildings, one of which presumably incorporated the early Christian inscription DEVORI HIC IACET which was known in the 18th century but had disappeared by 1847'.
