Site Notes

Forsyth/1996, 288: `The stone now stands atop a small knoll called Cnoc na Carraigh, 'hill of the rock', on high ground about 90m NW of the ruined chapel of Kilchartan, on the island of Gigha, Argyll. The site is on the east side of the island facing the coast of Kintyre three miles away and, according to Macalister, if one knows where to look for it, the stone is clearly visible from the mainland. Though this is not the original location of the stone, according to local tradition, it is very close to it.'

Fisher/2001, 117: `near its original site, 90m NW of Kilchattan church'.
