The Institute of Archaeology and Anglo-Israel Archaeological Society will jointly host a lecture by Lindsey Taylor-Guthartz (London School of Jewish Studies) at the Institute on 15 November.

Titled ‘Fakes, Frauds, and Fanatics: The Seamy Side of Biblical Archaeology'this lecture will examine notorious cases of archaeological fakes, forgeries, and questionable incidents from the infamous 19th century Shapira affair through to the modern day. Should amateurs or professionals ‘own’ Biblical archaeology?

All welcome. Admission free without ticket. The lecture will be followed by a wine reception.
