Congratulations to those Institute of Archaeology staff who were recognised for their outstanding contribution to the learning experience and success of UCL students in the UCLU Student Choice Teaching Awards 2017.

The Student Choice Teaching Awards, set up and run by UCL students, are now in their fifth year. The 2017 awards were the biggest ever, with over 1000 nominations, and 543 members of UCL staff being nominated overall. As in previous years, Institute of Archaeology staff received a significant number of nominations with 42 Institute staff being nominated across the various categories.

Judy Medrington received an award for Outstanding Personal Support, the category of award which celebrates excellence in student guidance and pastoral care. This is the fourth time that Judy has received this award!

A number of the Institute's Teaching Assistants and Professional Support staff were nominated for their commitment to excellence as well as permanent academic and research staff.

The awards, held jointly with the Provost’s Teaching Awards, were presented at a formal ceremony at UCL on 5 June 2017.

Many congratulations to Judy on her very well-deserved award and to all Institute nominees!
