Mar 17, 2016 04:00 PM
End: Mar 17, 2016 05:30 PM
Location: Room 609, UCL Institute of Archaeology
To celebrate International Women's Day the Institute will hold a session of lightning talks on 17 March to highlight the experience of women in archaeology and heritage and to generate ideas about addressing gender parity within the discipline.
The event, organised by the Institute's Equalities & Diversity Forum and the Women's Forum, will include approximately 20 talks of 5 minutes each, given by members of the Institute community - including current and past students, researchers, academic and professional support staff.
The session will
be very informal and there will be plenty of time for
discussion between and after the talks.
All welcome! Please do come and join in the discussion.
Participants who cannot make the whole session are very welcome to drop in at any stage. There will be open slots in the timetable for anyone to join in and give an impromptu lightning talk.

International Women's Day is held on 8 March each year (since 1914), and intends to celebrate the social, cultural, political and economic achievements of women. The particular call for 2016 is ‘Pledge for Parity’, calling on individuals and institutions to take action to accelerate gender parity.
