Institute students will make presentations at the FIGS Material Properties event at UCL on 28 February.

The Friday Forum of the UCL Arts & Humanities and Social & Historical Sciences Faculties Institute of Graduate Studies (Joint FIGS) will ask what we can learn in both historical and contemporary contexts by examining materials first and foremost, as opposed to starting with artefacts or processes.

Institute students Agnese Benzonelli, Yunci Cai (MPhil/PhD) and Josephine Mills (MSc Palaeolithic Archaeology and Palaeoanthropology) will give presentations centred around the event's themes:

  • Extension - Substitution
  • Methods of Interrogation
  • Embedding and Extracting Information

The programme for the event is available here»

The event is free but registration is essential. Register via Eventbrite here»

The Joint Faculty Institute of Graduate Studies (FIGS) is responsible for supporting and developing all graduate activity within the Arts & Humanities and Social & Historical Sciences Faculties, enhancing the research environment for graduate students and academic colleagues.
