The Natural History Museum opens its latest major temporary exhibition focusing on  the earliest occupants of Britain, which includes pioneering Institute of Archaeology research, on 13 February.

The exhibition, Britain: One Million Years of the Human Story, which runs until 28 September 2014, takes you on a journey through time to meet our ancient relatives – communities that had to adapt to survive in often challenging conditions. It gives snapshots of dramatically changing environments and landscapes where elephants, mammoths and rhinos once roamed.

The exhibition features the ground-breaking research of Simon Parfitt, Mark Roberts and Matt Pope, highlighting their work at the internationally important stone age sites of Happisburgh, Boxgrove and La Cotte de St Brelade, Jersey
