10 June 2015

Institute staff winners of Provost's Teaching Awards and UCLU Student Choice Teaching Awards 2015

Congratulations to Institute staff who recently received awards for their outstanding contribution to the learning experience and success of UCL students.

Provost's Teaching Awards

Sarah Dhanjal and Andrew Reid have been recognised for their outstanding contribution to excellence and innovation in teaching by each winning a Provost's Teaching Award this year.

The Provost's Teaching Awards, now in their ninth year, celebrate leadership in teaching and learning across all UCL faculties and demonstrate its commitment to continuous innovation in the teaching it offers its students. Since their inception, Institute staff have been successful nearly every year.

UCLU Student Choice Teaching Awards

Institute staff also won a number of UCLU Student Choice Teaching Awards this year. Tim Williams received an award for Outstanding Teaching, Maria Carmen Vida received an award for Outstanding Support for Teaching, Paul Basu and Gabriel Moshenska received awards for Outstanding Researcher Development while Judy Medrington again received an award for Outstanding Personal Support which celebrates excellence in student guidance and pastoral care.

As in previous years, Institute of Archaeology staff received a significant number of nominations for these awards, which are completely student-led. This year 36 staff were nominated, representing about 20% of all nominations received.

Many congratulations to them all on their well-deserved awards!
