The Institute of Archaeology will host a one-day conference on 31 March to report the most up-to-date results from the ERC-funded EUROEVOL project.

The EUROEVOL project is concerned with providing a new account of the role of farming in transforming early European societies between c.8000-4000 BP and the project team, led by Stephen Shennan, will present results on a number of key demographic events charcterising the European Neolithic as well as novel insights into the susbsistence strategies and sustainability of early agricultural systems.

The team will also showcase new methods and approaches in archaeological reasoning, and present results on modelling the cultural transmission processes of early European farmers.
