The Open House event at the UCL Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology runs from 10am-5pm and is following an equine theme!
The event will give visitors:
- A chance to find out more about the history of the building that were once horses' stables and now home to the Petrie Collection in Malet Place.
- The opportunity to follow a horse-themed trail around the museum and meet some equine friends.
- A chance to add their horse god to the museum's model and make their own out of modelling materials
- Experience of object handling at 12 noon, 2pm and 3pm using items from the Institute's collections including sherds of Greek black-figure ware, a Yemeni ceramic horse and an Iron Age scarab seal from the Levant. Visitors are asked to sign at the museum's front desk for a session to explore other horses in ancient culture.
