The Institute of Archaeology currently has a vacancy for a Research Associate (part-time, Ref.: 1366610). The deadline for applications is 1 October 2013.

Applications for a part-time Research Associate for the research project on "Cross-disciplinary frameworks for studying visitor experiences with digitally mediated museum exhibits" are now being sought.

The research project, hosted at the Institute of Archaeology (PI: Theano Moussouri) and run collaboratively with the Faculty of Children and Learning of the Institute of Education, is funded by the IOE/UCL Strategic Partnership Research Innovation Fund. The aim of the study is to expand and develop new interdisciplinary methodologies to better understand interaction around digital museum exhibits.

The post is funded for 9 months in the first instance.

Candidates should have a PhD in Museum or Heritage Studies, or equivalent research experience and be able to demonstrate the ability to work with interactive exhibits in a museum environment, preferably with experience with digital objects. Evidence of experience in research methods, particularly in qualitative research such as, ethnography, observation and/or video-based research is also essential.
