Archaeological Photography and the Representation of the Past in 19th Century Italy

Jeremy Tanner's special lecture at the Daniel Blau gallery, London on 15 May has had to be indefinitely postponed. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Jeremy's talk is entitled 'Between Art and Science: Archaeological Photography and the Representation of the Past in 19th Century Italy' and is presented alongside the current exhibition at the gallery '79AD: A Photographic Visit to 19th Century Italy' conceived in response to the British Museum's major exhibition on 'Life and Death in Pompeii and Herculaneum'.

The exhibition at the Daniel Blau gallery contains original 19th century photographs of Pompeii alongside images of other archaeological sites and art and architecture in Italy.
