Weaving Hinemihi's People: tukutuku weaving workshop

A tukutuku weaving workshop will be held at the Institute of Archaeology on 5-6 April and participants are invited to drop in and see the weaving in progress.

At a series of Maori weaving workshops in 2012, the production of tukutuku panels (interior woven decorative wall panels) for the restoration for Hinemihi, the Maori Meeting house at Clandon Park, UK was started. The next of these workshops, scheduled for 5-6 April 2013 aims to complete this group of tukutuku panels and arrange for the next phase of weaving to take place.

Please come along to see the weavers in action, learn tukutuku weaving, and to
participate in this community building conservation project. Contact Dean Sully to find out more about the workshop and being one of Hinemihi’s people.

All welcome!
