Yasuhiro Taniguchi (Kokugakuin University, Tokyo) will give a talk on The Archaeology of Jomon Cultural Landscape at the Institute on 12 March.
Prof Yasuhiro Taniguchi is an expert in Jomon hunter-gatherers (ca 14,000 ~ 1,000 BC, Japan), and is currently visiting the UCL Institute of Archaeology as part of his sabbatical year. He is the author of several books in Japanese, in particular, Circular Settlements and Jomon Social Structure (Kanjou Shuraku to Jomon Shakai Kouzou, 2005), Rethinking the Origin of Jomon Culture (Jomon Bunka Kigenron no Saikouchiku, 2011).
The lecture will be followed by a reception in the Staff Common Room (Room 609) and all are welcome to attend.
