Job Vacancy: Lithics Lab Technician

The Institute of Archaeology currently has a vacancy for a Lithics Lab Technician (Ref.:1313915). The deadline for applications is 5 March 2013.
A Lithics Lab Technician is sought to provide assistance to the European Research Council funded "The Origins of the Acheulean in East Africa" (ORACEAF) project led by Ignacio de la Torre.
The post holder will be responsible for labelling and inventorying lithic artefacts, inputting information onto databases and faciliitation of field and laboratory work activities.
The post is part-time (75%) and funded for 24 months in the first instance.
Applicants should have experience of handling and illustration of lithics, preferably African assemblages and experice with stone tool technology. The successful candidate will also have strong IT skills and familiarity with archaeology database management and barcode cataloguing systems in archaeological databases.
