The Institute of Archaeology currently has a vacancy for an IT Technician (Ref.:1312329). The deadline for applications is 26 February 2013.

The Institute of Archaeology wishes to appoint an IT Technician to provide IT support to all of its staff, students, honorary staff and affiliates. The IT technician will act as the principal point of liaison with UCL's Information Services Division on all Institute IT matters.

The IT Technician will be responsible for specifying, purchasing and maintaining all IT equipment and software in the Institute, providing advice/support on use of IT to all of its members and will be the Departmental Computer Representative.

Candidates should have excellent knowledge and experience of operating systems administration on desktop computers and excellent problem solving skills, including an ability to diagnose complex hardware and software faults.

The successful candidate will be flexible, have the ability to prioritise their workload, keep to deadlines and be able to multitask. Given the ever-changing nature of IT, the successful candidate must be willing to undertake regular training to keep up-to-date with the latest IT developments.
