Institute students supporting London 2012
21 July 2012

With just under a week to go to the start of the London 2012 Games, Institute students have been chosen to support athletes at the Olympics and Paralympics.
Institute undergraduates Daniella Afeltra and Tiffany Heasman have been picked to join the Athlete Services and Event Services Teams respectively, supporting Olympic teams in the run up to and during the sporting events and contributing to the smooth running of the Games.
Daniella will be working at Eton Dorney at the Rowing for both the Olympics and Paralympics, looking after the rowing athletes and their team managers when they arrive both for competition and for training before the Games starts and liaising with the teams to ensure they are happy and well looked after throughout.
- Tiffany will be based at the Olympic Stadium as part of the Event Services Team turning her hand to whatever needs to be done on a daily basis to ensure the smooth running of all of the activities.
The students applied to be volunteers for this unique opportunity to play a part at one of the most famous, exciting and prestigious events in the world. About 250,000 people applied to be volunteers and Daniella and Tiffany were lucky enough to be chosen to contribute to the London 2012 Games.
