Kevin MacDonald interviewed on Malian ancient architectural heritage
4 July 2012

Kevin MacDonald has been interviewed this week by BBC Radio 4 and the BBC World Service about the current threat to Mali's archaeological heritage.
Over the past week, the fears of all those who revere Mali's ancient architectural heritage came to tragic fruition as Ansar Dine, the Islamic extremist group currently occupying northern Mali, began to systematically destroy the shrines of Timbuktu.
Kevin, who has worked in Malian archaeology over the past 25 years, was consulted about the situation recently by both the World Service and BBC Radio 4.
