IoA Alumni: Class of 2001 reunion
13 January 2012
Institute of Archaeology alumni from the class of 2001 held their 10-year reunion at a specially organised event in central London last term.
Ray Burke (BSc Archaeology, 2001; MSc Technology and Analysis of Archaeological Materials, 2006), who organised the event, sent the following report:
- "On Saturday 15th October 2011, the alumni of class of 2001 held their 10-year reunion at Potion bar -28 Maple Street, W1. While the class have had yearly reunions in the past, this was a special celebration and a chance to catch up with new attendees and 'old' faces alike; some coming from as far away as Norway and Italy.
Along with the former undergraduates, members of the Institute's staff had also been invited with Judy Medrington, Mark Hassall, and Elizabeth Graham reminiscing with their former charges. After the bar festivities were over, a few hardy souls made their way to the O-Bar in Soho for a bit of clubbing - just like the old days. Who knows what the next 10 years will bring, but this reunion will live long in our memories."
Photographs from the event are available on Ray's Facebook Album.
The Institute is marking its 75th anniversary in 2012 and it is hoped that our alumni will join in the events and activities being held to celebrate the Institute's achievements over the years.
