Institute Finalists 2011

For the second year running, Institute of Archaeology undergraduate students have expressed 100% satisfaction with the teaching and support they receive at the Institute.

The National Student Survey of undergraduate finalists in all UK Higher Education institutions and departments is carried out annually for the UK government. Students are given an opportunity to give feedback on all aspects of university life including teaching, assessment and feedback, academic support, organisation and management, learning resources, personal development and overall satisfaction.

The Institute of Archaeology was ranked equal 1st out of 41 returns with significantly higher scores than the average for Archaeology nationwide under every heading.

The Institute was ranked joint 1st out of 42 returns in the 2010 survey, with 100% student satisfaction again being received.

Students at the Institute are supported by over 70 academic staff, who provide a remarkably broad and deep coverage of many topics within archaeology. Despite the Institute's size, we pride ourselves on the quality and quantity of individual attention that our students get, which is supported by testimonials from former undergraduate students.

The Institute of Archaeology has also achieved high ranking positions in various national University League Tables for 2012.
