Cultures of Commodity Branding

12 October 2010

Cultures of Commodity Branding bookcover

Andrew Bevan and David Wengrow's edited volume on Cultures of Commodity Branding has recently been published by Left Coast Press.

The volume arises from the international conference of the same name which was held at UCL in May 2008, hosted by the Centre for Museums, Heritage and Material Culture Studies and also sponsored by the British Academy and Institute of Archaeology.

"The authors of this volume show that the cultural history of branding stretches back to the beginnings of urban life in the ancient Near East and Egypt, and can be found in various permutations in places as diverse as the Bronze Age Mediterranean, and Early Modern Europe" making the volume essential reading for both economic anthropologists and archaeologists.
