Anna Mousouli holds a BA in Social Policy and Social Anthropology from Panteion University, Athens. In 2004, she obtained an M.Sc. in Medical Anthropology from University College London. Her dissertation, which is entitled "Albanian Immigrants in Athens: Power Relations and Health (AIIS, Tirana 2005)", focuses on how the social position of Albanian immigrants and power relations affect their status in the Greek health care system, their perception of health and the relationship between the Greek doctor and Albanian immigrant patient. These issues are illustrated with reference to ethnographic data, gathered during fieldwork research in Athens. Anna has a continued interest in migration and refugee studies. She currently participates in “Kaisariani” oral history research project at Panteion University. This project aims to provide knowledge and understanding of the way in which significant historical events, such as the establishment of Greek refugees from Asia Minor in 1922, the German occupation of Greece and the Greek civil War, are narrated and experienced locally. |

Student: Alexandra Bagge Placement Organization: DSTL, Ministry of Defence Placement Project: Engaging with Indigenous Groups Project - I am writing a report that will look at the practical strategies that missionary organisations use to engage with people/groups. In particular, it will examine the practices, approaches and principles used on the Alpha course in order to gain an understanding of how missionaries engage, interact, communicate and convert people from different cultures. Furthermore, the report will also relate Alpha to the wider practices of the 'charismatic' movement and missionary approaches to engagement. |

| Sabrina Dawood graduated from University College London, with an MSc in Medical Anthropology and qualified with a BA in Anthropology and Law from the London School of Economics. She currently manages an O-Level school for 1500 girls in Karachi, Pakistan. In June-July 2007, she carried out field research in the earthquake-stricken Azad Kashmir in Pakistan; focusing on women’s narratives of health and illness in the aftermath of the earthquake and NGO influx in the region. The research further expounds the meaning and imagery that the disaster acquired in the minds of its survivors and how they utilised it as a means of social introspection. |
