Funding Opportunities
The majority of our students are supported by grants from government bodies (including UK Research Councils) and charitable foundations. In addition, students are supported by Overseas Research Scholarships (ORS) and UCL Graduate School Scholarships. A small number of departmental bursaries of an amount to cover College UK/EU fees are available in Anthropology. Application forms for these bursaries are available here.
Relevant potential sources of funding will be discussed when applicants come to the department for interview. All students are expected to ensure that they have sufficient funds to cover the College’s fees (and living expenses) for the full period of their degree.
Visiting PhD Students
The department invites applications from visiting students registered for a graduate degree at their home university. This opportunity allows the student to spend up to a year at UCL and to take advantage of the wide range of available specialist courses. Fees are payable pro rata. Detailed information in relation to visiting graduate research students from overseas is available from the UCL International Office.
