The Department has a number of funding opportunities available for Masters, MRes, and MPhil/Phd degrees. Depending on the degree programme, sources vary from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), and the Overseas Development Agency (ODA). In addition the Graduate School offers a small number of fees-only bursaries. Overseas (non EU) students may apply for UCL Open Scholarships, as well as to the Overseas Research Scheme(ORS) for the PhD degree.
UCL Graduate Research/Overseas Research Scholarships (GRS/ORS)
Applications for both the GRS and ORS funding opportunities are now open for 2016/17 entry.
Potential applicants MUST be in receipt of an offer for admission to the MPhil/PhD programme to be eligible. Students who are presently enrolled in the first year of the programme are also eligible.
UK/EU fee paying students will be considered for the GRS and overseas fee paying students will be considered for BOTH the GRS and ORS. The application procedure is the same for both scholarships.
Please ensure you read all of the important information at the following two links and that you submit your complete application to Chris Russell by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) by the given deadline below. Alternatively, a hard copy of your application can be posted to the department.
