The Department has a number of funding opportunities available for Masters, MRes, and MPhil/Phd degrees. Depending on the degree programme, sources vary from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), and the Overseas Development Agency (ODA). In addition the Graduate School offers a small number of fees-only bursaries. Overseas (non EU) students may apply for UCL Open Scholarships, as well as to the Overseas Research Scheme(ORS) for the PhD degree.
UCL Graduate Support Scheme
The Graduate Support Scheme 2014 continues UCL’s tradition of making high quality education accessible. A total of 93 bursaries, consisting of a fee waiver and a living allowance of £10,000, are available for students from underprivileged backgrounds on a range of courses. There is also childcare support to assist parents whilst studying, and a range of other activities including summer schools for most participating programmes.
There are 10 bursaries for students studying in Anthropology Department: 4 for MSc Social and Cultural Anthropology; 2 for MSc Anthropology, Environment and Development; 2 for MA Culture, Materials and Design and 2 for MSc Medical Anthropology.

These awards are being made by the AHRC through the London Arts and Humanities Partnership based in UCL, Kings College London, and the School of Advanced Studies.
