Critical Care Procedures

In partnership with a prestigious major European University, UCL Centre for Anaesthesia education invites you to participate in, and help develop, a completely unique Critical Care & Anaesthesia training course focused on teaching core and advanced skills in Anaesthesia & Critical Care Medicine. 

Candidates at all stages of training in 

  • Anaesthesia
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Intensive Care Medicine and 
  • Acute medicine are invited.  

We welcome both junior AND advanced trainees and/or consultants interested in future instructor and educational roles.

Overview of Programme 2012

The specific skills covered depend on the course. We will expose candidates to intensive complex, real-time clinical scenarios over an intensive 2 days, and include: 

  • transthoracic echo training
  • bronchoscopy,
  • transvenous pacing,
  • percutaneous tracheostomy, 
  • pulmonary artery catheterization
  • high frequency oscillatory ventilation
Cost Cost depends on course: £500-750, excluding travel [~£130] and local accommodation [~£40/night]
