Iwan Morgan Awarded BAAS Honorary Fellowship

UCL Institute of the Americas (UCL-IA) is delighted to announce that the British Association of American Studies (BAAS) has awarded Iwan Morgan, Professor of US Studies and Commonwealth Fund Professor of American History (and presently UCL-IA acting director), as BAAS Honorary Fellow for 2014.  Iwan is the seventh holder of this annual award that was created in 2008.  The BAAS Honorary Fellowship recognizes academics who have made outstanding contributions to American Studies scholarship and teaching across the course of a distinguished career. The formal award was made on April 12 at the banquet of the BAAS annual conference held at the University of Birmingham.  Iwan also delivered the plenary address to this conference in a separate capacity as the British Library's Eccles Centre BAAS lecturer for 2014.  He spoke on: 'The Eternal Red Peril: Deficits and Debt in American History from Jefferson to Obama.'
