The Institute of the Americas will be hosting this timely panel on the US elections. Four UCL specialists in US affairs offer instant commentary on the 2012 US elections results and their significance. Dr Adam Smith (History) places the presidential election outcome in its historical context; Dr Tony McCulloch (Institute of the Americas) considers the role of foreign policy in the election; Dr Alan Ware (Visiting Fellow, UCL, Politics) assesses the outcome of the election for the two main parties and Prof Iwan Morgan (Institute of the Americas) reviews the importance of the economy for the result and whether the outcome portends economic policy change.

The presentations will be followed by a Q&A session and a drinks reception. Entrance is free of charge but you are strongly advised to register your attendance.
