UCL - Institute of the Americas (UCL-IA) joins efforts with Nuffield College, Oxford, with the kind support of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), to host this workshop. Distinguished guest speakers Dr Maria Amparo Casar (CIDE, Mexico), Dr Juan Carlos Dominguez (Instituto Mora, Mexico), Dr Juan Carlos Boue (Oxford Institute for Energy Studies) and Rodrigo Aguilera (Economist Intelligence Unit), amongst others, join UCL-IA's Prof Kevin Middlebrook and Nuffield's Laurence Whitehead to look closely into and discuss the first few months of the current PRI (Partido Revolucionario Institucional) administration. The PRI returned to power after a twelve-year hiatus in the opposition, on the strength of a controversial election that led its candidate, Mr Enrique Pena Nieto, to the Presidency. He was sworn in on December 1 2012.
