BRITISH ASSOCIATION OF CANADIAN STUDIES (BACS) HISTORY AND POLITICS GROUP CONFERENCE: 'WILLIAM LYON MACKENZIE KING: UNSUNG HERO?'

The annual conference of the BACS History and Politics Group will take place on Friday 12 July at the UCL Institute of the Americas, 51 Gordon Square, London, WC1H OPQ, from 11.00 to 17.30, refreshments and lunch included.

Coffee/registration begins at 10.30am

The conference starts at 11.00am with a brief welcome followed by a keynote lecture on how historians have viewed Mackenzie King’s career to be given by Dr Hector Mackenzie, Senior Historian at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Ottawa. Other papers will discuss Mackenzie King’s private life, his Scottish ancestry, his trip to Asia in 1908-1909, his immigration policy and various aspects of his foreign and defence policies.
