Prof Victor Bulmer-Thomas (UCL-IA) is giving three lectures to coincide with the publication of his book 'The Economic History of the Caribbean since the Napoleonic Wars'. This second talk explores the economic development of the Caribbean in the period from the end of the Spanish-American War in 1898 to the Cuban Revolution, when imperial preference by the metropolitan powers, including the United States, was of great importance
