Call for papers: 1st Postgraduate Americas Conference: Power and Change in the Americas in the Modern Era

The UCL Americas Research Network invites doctoral students and early career researchers of the Americas (Central, South, and North America, as well as the Caribbean) from across the humanities and the social sciences to submit their proposals on the theme Power and Change in the Americas in the Modern Era, which will take place at University College London from April 30 - May 1, 2015.

Graduate Open Day 2014

UCL-Institute of the Americas invites all those interested in our graduate programmes to attend this event on November 19, starting at 13:00. It will take place at the University of London Senate House, Beverdige Hall and MacMillan Hall. This is an opportunity for prospective students to see what makes UCL one of the world’s top 10 universities. Visitors will have the chance to meet with Graduate Tutors, Heads of Department and other academic staff to discuss Master's and PhD programmes in the Faculties of Arts & Humanities, Social & Historical Sciences and SSEES.  Registration is highly recommended. UCL-IA's Dr Emily Morris appointed to the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB)

UCL-IA is glad to announce that our colleague Emily Morris will be joining the IADB’s Central American Regional Economic Advisor’s team, beginning mid-September, with special responsibility for Belize. Based in the Bank’s Washington DC headquarters, she will be responsible for financial monitoring and analysis of Belize’s economic development, supporting the IADB’s representatives within the country. She will also contribute to research design and policy discussions to help to shape the IDB’s work in the Central American region as a whole, which includes Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Congratulations!
