Student Activities
UCL alumni are a great source of inspiration and advice for current UCL students. Students love to get UCL alumni involved in their activities - from sports or departmental clubs, to cultural or industry/career related societies. To inspire and support UCL students and get involved in any of their activities listed below, please email us.
Careers support for students
- How did you get into your career field?
- What are the positive and negative aspects of your job?
- Can you offer work experience to UCL students?
- Would you come into UCL to talk to students about your career?
Please contact us if you would would like to get involved. We also run the Alumni Careers Mentoring Network, through which alumni can give informal careers advice on-line to students and recent graduates. For more details, please click here.
UCLU Women's Rugby - call to alumni!
A message to UCL alumni from Kaye Selby, President, UCL Women's Rugby Club: 'We are planning an international community tour to Argentina in summer 2011. We want to be able to go out there and teach them rugby skills to encourage trust, diversity and important life-skills such as team-building and respect.
We would love alumni to get involved with this and are seeking additional funding. If you think you can help, please do get in touch with us through the Alumni Office.'
UCLU Film Society
A message to UCL alumni from Cristina Catalayud, President, UCL Film Society: 'The Film
Society ran an event in December 2010 that gathered previous film
society members together with current UCL students. Of the 35 alumni who attended, a fair
number had been involved in many of the films that we watched as part of the event and many have gone on to highly successful careers in film.
We were honoured to receive so many alumni at our event and other than the nostalgia that the films doubtlessly brought, they were eager to quiz us on what we are up to today. We’d like to thank them for their attendance and we aim to keep up their high standards of work.'
UCLU Young Writers' Society
A message to UCL Alumni from Marta Owczarek, President, YWS: 'We have been working with alumni for the last couple of years and would love to extend that process and get more alumni involved in our society. Our aim is to provide a platform for writing, whether as a future profession of just personal interest. Our activities aim to encourage more students to write and share their work, and to showcase their talent to all audiences we can attract.
We'd be delighted to hear from any alumni interested in getting involved in our society or who are writers themselves and are willing to come in and talk to us. Please email the Alumni Relations team to get in touch.'
