1958 Royal Free Hospital alumni - 24 June 2010
Pat Last, 1958 Royal Free and organiser of the reunion writes: "20 Royal Free Alumni plus two
spouses met on 24th June in
our 'adopted' Alma Mater. In the morning
we were treated to a tour of the new EGA Wing which opened in November
2008 and
had excellent presentations from Dr Belinda Green, consultant midwife
and a
team from the units telling us of the new developments in prenatal,
intrapartum
and postnatal care and in the field of gynae malignacy all housed within
the
new Wing. One can't help feeling the
Elizabeth Garrett Anderson herself would have approved.
Lunch was in University College at the Print Room Cafe where tables had been reserved for us and there was plenty of time to chat and catch up - some who had not met for 52 years and some who met at our 50th Reunion.
In the afternoon we were treated to a guided tour of Medicine Man at the Wellcome Museum fascinating especially for many of us who had not visited the Wellcome since our student days. Sinking gratefully into the chairs in the Wellcome cafe, we wound up our visit with a welcome 'cuppa' before heading home with many friendships restored."
