Wolfson Postgraduate Scholarships in the Humanities
19 December 2011
Applications are invited for three 3-year research studentships in the humanities, funded by the Wolfson Foundation. The studentships will normally cover fees (at the UK/EU level) and include a maintenance stipend of £19,370 p.a. and an element for research and training costs.
Applications will be considered for students interested in
undertaking doctoral research in the disciplines of history, literature and
languages. One studentship will be available in each discipline.
Applicants should have an outstanding academic record, usually a first class honours degree at undergraduate level and a Master’s degree from a recognised university in a cognate field of study to their proposed doctoral research.
Applicants must submit an application for a research degree to one of the participating departments in the Faculties of Arts and Humanities or Social and Historical Sciences.
Applications must be submitted by Wednesday 1 February 2012. Applicants must also write to the postgraduate admissions tutor of the relevant department indicating that they wish to be considered for a Wolfson Postgraduate Scholarship.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview in the second half of March.
