Documentary Film and Psychoanalysis Conference: From
Observation to Après-coup.
In the spirit of interdisciplinary research, this conference aims to develop connections between the two fields through conversations between psychoanalysts, documentary filmmakers and film theorists.
Keynote speaker:
- Prof. Michael Renov (Professor of critical studies, University of Southern California) Author, The Subject of Documentary (2004) and Hollywood's Wartime Woman: Representation and Ideology (1988); Editor, Theorizing Documentary (1993); Co-editor, Collecting Visible Evidence (1999), a collection of essays on documentary studies; and Resolutions: Contemporary Video Practices (1996); Series editor, Visible Evidence book series (1997)
.
The day will include documentary film screenings, paper
presentations and panel discussions with:
