Professor Miriam Leonard appears on Radio Australia

5 December 2012

Professor Miriam Leonard

Professor Miriam Leonard (Department of Greek & Latin) has appeared on Radio National, the international broadcasting and online service operated by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), Australia's public broadcaster.

Exploring why Greek tragedy has played such a crucial role in the development of philosophy since the late eighteenth century, Professor Leonard’s inaugural lecture was broadcast as part of Big Ideas, a round-up of the best talks, forums, debates and festivals held in Australia and around the world.

Professor Leonard’s lecture focuses on the works of Hegel, Nietzsche and Freud and investigates how the return to antiquity was essential in forming what we know today as the modern condition.

Radio National is broadcast on over 260 frequencies around Australia, making it the largest single network in the country.
