Centre for Early Modern Exchanges: Launch Conference

Join over 120 speakers at the official launch of the Centre for Early Modern Exchanges.
This conference will include participants from all over
the world, presenting papers on subjects ranging from Africans and
Aztecs in the Atlantic world, to the foreign correspondence of Queen
Elizabeth I, and from European court music to journeys in the Ottoman
Empire.
Themes include:
- travel, exile and migration
- trade in material and cultural goods (including books and manuscripts)
- the transition of literary and artistic influences across national and linguistic borders.
The Centre for Early Modern Exchanges explores
intercultural exchange in the period 1450-1800, including travel,
translation, and traffic in goods and ideas.
