Helen Matthews


My current role is Deputy Faculty Tutor for Arts and Humanities and Social and Historical Sciences. Dr Arne Hofmann  and I share the responsibilities of Faculty Tutors for both Faculties between us. I focus on processes and quality assurance issues and am the first point of contact for module and programme proposals and amendments and quality assurance procedures. I am a member of a number of UCL Committees including Academic Committee, Education Committee, Quality Review Sub-Committee, Academic Regulations and Quality Assurance Sub-Committee and UCL Arena Steering Committee.

My PhD was on illegitimacy and landed society in later medieval England.

I am also a Fellow of the Association of University Administrators (AUA) and have chaired the Board of Studies for their Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Practice (Higher Education Administration and Management).
