Dr. Jaime Awe
Dr. Jaime Awe is Director of the Institute of Archaeology in the National Institute of Culture and History in Belize.
He has previously been a professor of Archaeology at Trent University in Canada (1990 - 1996), followed by a position at University of New Hampshire, USA (1996 – 2000). Since returning to Belize in 2000, he has coordinated major conservation projects at Cahal Pech, Xunantunich, Caracol, Altun Ha, Cerros and Lamanai, and continues to conduct research at Cahal Pech, Baking Pot and several cave sites in the Cayo District. He teaches in the Anthropology program at Galen University.
Dr. Awe has published numerous articles in various books, archaeological journals, and magazines, and his research has been featured in several national and international television documentaries.
