Work Experience

Work Experience Programme

During 2009 and 2010 UCL Advances co-ordinated the UCL work experience programme where UCL graduates were placed for 6-8 week assignments within companies.

The programme was beneficial to businesses who wanted to benefit from access to UCL students and students who wanted to work in an entrepreneurial, SME and social ventures business.

After co-ordinating over 60 successful internships during the summer of 2009, UCL Advances received further funding for an additional work experience programme that began in March 2010.

The aim of the programme was to provide graduated UCL students with valuable work experience that enabled them to develop transferable skills and better equip them for the challenging labour market they were heading into. The graduates attended a three day boot camp, in which they were taught fundamental business practice by lecturers from UCL and London Business School, before being placed on an eight week assignment at a firm complimenting their academic studies and aspirations.

The Work Experience Programme ended in August 2010 and over 100 students were successfully placed.
