HELO (Higher Education London Outreach), part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, welcomes you to StartUps with Rob Fitzpatrick, the man behind The StartUp Toolkit. In this one-day workshop, you'll hear great advice and techniques to get your startup off to a full sprint.
This workshop is aimed at London-registered or London-trading SMEs.
Before you arrive on Monday morning, you will need to do some work in preparation though, to get the maximum benefit out of the time. Make sure you:
- Read the 80ish page free pdf sample of Business Model Generation, downloadable from http://businessmodelgeneration.com/downloads/businessmodelgeneration_preview.pdf; and
- Draw out a business model canvas of your own business where it stands now (if youre trading) and/or where you want it to be once it's running (better).
Timings of the day are as follows:
9.00am - Arrival (tea, coffee, biscuits)
9.15am - Workshop Part : Bridges, rats & risks: the tools of startup strategy
10.45am - Break
11.00am - Workshop Part 2: Growth & business models: what scale looks like
12.30pm - Lunch
1.15pm - Braintrust: Your progress, problems, and plan thus far
1.45pm - Workshop Part 3: Tricks & tactics for making progress without losing all your time & money
3.15pm - Break
3.30pm - Workshop Part 4: A practical plan of attack (and taking advantage of being small)
5.00pm - Workshop Conclusion: The 48 hour sprint and presenting your next steps
