UCL Advances Enterprise Bootcamps are mentioned on BBC Radio 4
15 September 2011
During yesterday's BBC Radio Four "You and Yours" programme, a discussion on the employability of graduates, particularly from engineering, included economist Charlies Levy of the Work Foundation explaining the need for "well rounded" individuals with diverse skills.
He went on to cite UCL Advances work in developing entrepreneurship and business understanding through our Enterprise Boot Camps. The reference to UCL Enterprise is at 38mins 30 secs in, but the discussion becomes relevant from about 33mins - www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b014gdr1
UCL Enterprise Boot Camps
The Enterprise Boot Camps are offered to UCL students as an introduction to the way that business works. These three days sessions have been run seven times in the last two years, typically to audiences of 120-150 a time. They cover fundamental concepts in business operations, how business see opportunities arise, fundamental finance skills and work expectations. They are taught with reference to personal experiences by the three presenters and have very high levels of student satisfaction.

UCL Student Ventures Programme (SVP)
The SVP is our complete programme of support for UCL students that wish to start a business. It includes access to training, one-to-one business advice from our in-house advisor, access to loans and grant funding and the use of our Hatchery space. Recent successes include the launch of Charity Checkout, a business that helps charities collect online donations in a tax efficient manner, and TipGain, an app- based promotions marketing company for retailers.
