Capital Enterprise is the membership body for deliverers of enterprise support in London. We facilitate entrepreneurship via our network of members (Enterprise Agencies, Universities, Social Enterprises and private sector Business Support Organisations) and through the management & delivery of externally funded programmes. Capital Enterprise is a company limited by guarantee, not-for-profit and operates from the offices of one of its members- University College London-in Central London. This is an opportunity for a 'doer' to be actively involved in all aspects of a commercially-driven organisation and to develop upon his/her knowledge, skills and experience. Not one for those fearful of rolling up their sleeves, hitting the ground running and enjoying work.

Working alongside the Executive Director, we are looking for a person to manage all aspects of projects working with multiple partners at international, national, regional and local levels. An understanding of finance is key as is the ability to carry out business and marketing initiatives involving multiple stakeholders. As a membership body you will be serving at present, 50 organisations spread across 33 London Boroughs. You will be expected to achieve process efficiencies and manage/streamline operations covering all aspects of a business. This is a client-facing role so the ability to interact positively with clients, partners and stakeholders is a key differentiator. In a nutshell, this is a cross-functional role with a strong project management theme.

The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate from a good University who has had prior project management or related experience (full or part time whilst at university or since graduating). You should be a proactive self-starter with the ability to carry out tasks with limited supervision often producing rabbits from hats. All applicants must have the ability to live and work in the UK.

Volunteer Ambassadors needed for ‘Citrus Saturday’

UCL Advances are recruiting UCL volunteers for their new pilot project – Citrus Saturday. They will be working with Camden based Secondary schools, and are looking for UCL students to take the role of a mentor and supervisors of teams of school students who’ll be producing and selling their own lemonade. You do not need experience as training will be given – the main thing is that you have an interest in working with children, entrepreneurship, business coupled with confidence, commitment and drive!!!

You’ll need to be free on the 2nd of June for the Citrus Saturday info session. Also, on the 16th, 17th, 18th, 25th  of June and 2nd July (Citrus Saturday). If you don't already have a CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) check, you’ll also need to get one done through the Volunteering Services Unit.

This is a great chance to play a part in this exciting new entrepreneurial project. UCL Advances is the centre for entrepreneurship and business interaction at UCL – so it’ll also be a great name to have on your CV! We’ll also provide a reference for all volunteers.
