Hilary is an archaeologist specialising in public
archaeology at UCL. As a Knowledge Exchange Associate, she is currently leading
a project examining the challenges which archaeological contract divisions face
in incorporating public outreach within their projects. The project focuses on Archaeology South East
in Brighton: the contracts division of UCL Centre for Applied Archaeology. CAA
is a research and support division which encourages research and innovation in
professional archaeological practice.
Hilary’s doctorate examined changing attitudes and policy towards metalliferous mining sites in Cornwall through the post-war period. She is Honorary Research Associate at UCL Institute of Archaeology and she has published and presented her research on public archaeology, archaeology education and cultural heritage at national and international conferences.
