Deputy Director, UCL Advances
T: 020 7679 7520
Gurpreet, or Gups for short, is the Deputy Director of UCL Advances and holds day-to-day operational responsibility for its activities.
He joined UCL Advances in September 2012 from the University of Birmingham where he spent three years designing and delivering postgraduate and graduate enterprise programmes and held operational responsibility for the enterprise team. These included the University’s flagship talentpool, a project for postgraduate students designed to boost their understanding of external organisations. The programme was so successful it clocked up just under 300 participants from across the university – with part of its appeal being that after the workshops, the programme administrators worked to secure real-world consulting opportunities for those taking part.
Previous to that he spent six years at Birmingham City University supporting Staff and Student Enterprise; running a Mentoring Programme for undergraduate students and working closely with Advantage West Midlands on the Birmingham Science City programme in the area of Digital Media and ICT.
Gups has an MBA from University of Birmingham, an MSc Real Estate and Management from Birmingham City University and a BA Hons in Business Information Management from University of Wolverhampton. He is also a PRINCE2 practitioner and MBTI Certified practitioner.
His expertise is in the areas of: enterprise skills; entrepreneurship; life coaching; management consulting; mentoring; project management; residential property and business development. Gups also runs his own residential property business specialising in buy-to-lets and project-managing renovations.
